To anyone who has enjoyed our music or our company in the last two + years, I regret to inform you that The High Court will no longer continue as a band. An enormous thanks to Rob Hitt, Alex, Mara, Gaby, Jordan, Brooks, and everyone at I Surrender, Maggie, Eva, and everyone at Fata, Olivier, and Monika for believing in us and making it possible for us to see the country and meet some of the most caring and hospitable people we've ever met. Thank you to everyone who bought our record, came to see us play, let us party and crash at their place, or anyone who was just cool to us. Also, big ups to 2*Sweet, Asteria, Bedlight, Socratic, LD, A Cursive Memory, Royden, Liam and Me, Action Action, Fireworks, GirlsGirlsGirls, InnerPartySystem, Lannen Fall, Therefore I Am, Brad Kelsey, Joey Mahoney, Ludo, Four Year Strong, Valencia, The Casting Out, Hence reverie, basically anyone we toured or played with. This is getting long. Haha.

The High Court is making a music video, and we want you to be in it. 
We want you to send us a video of you singing "She'll Never Know", along to our cd.  You can play air guitar or air drums or anything creative like that.  It can be 30 seconds long, or the entire song, but we are only going to use clips!  It has to be in time with the cd, otherwise it won't work.  We need the video ASAP.  Within the next two weeks would be ideal.

So where to start....

so far this tour has been the best we have done in many many ways. there have been tons of amazing kids at the shows and we've made lots of new friends and fans along the way. Asteria and Bedlight For Blue Eyes have become very very close friends of ours now. Amazing people they are.

now.... onwards with the stories.

Day 3 Philadelphia, PA:   We're standing outside the Trocadero a few minutes before doors open, theres a nice long line of kids outfront waiting to get in.  Out of nowhere a car come flying up onto the sidewalk barreling over street signs, newspaper dispensers and nearly killing me, denny, ben, and danny from bedlight. Danny managed to see it and hop out of the way. I was facing the opposite direction and had no idea what was coming. I don't believe I got hit, but if you talk to everyone who saw it they said I did, but in that kind of situation your head is in a completely different world and you cant really recall what happened... anyway i somehow dodged death and ended up on the ground on my back. I escaped with nothing more than a scratch on my middle finger. One of the newspaper dispensers flew through the air nearly missing Bens head and hit Denny right in the arm. LUCKILY no one was hurt.

Day 8 Toledo, OH:  We're haning out outside the venue before doors open just trying to kill some time. Out of nowhere Terrance, the singer of Asteria, comes up to our van shaking and holding his face.  Apparently he got jumped by 2 dudes. The story goes like this... Terrance was walking across the street to the store and these 2 guys come out of a bar and nearly hit him with their car... so naturally he responded by yelling to watch where theyre going. They slam on the brakes and open the door and ask what he said. He says "are you trying to hit someone?"  they respond with "no, but now we are" they get out and punch him several times in the back, head, and face. Police end up coming and a report was filed. Again luckily he wasnt hurt, just shaken up. Things couldve gotten a lot worse.

Day 12 Indiana: We get back to the house of the Asteria boys for a nice comfortable sleep for the night. We get there and as soon as we open the door a bird flies into the house. So it's in this one room flying around and we're trying to get it back out the door. Ben opens the door to the rest of the house and immediately the bird flies into the rest of the house. We opened every single door and window to try to get this bird out of the house. Meanwhile.... its like 3 am and theres quite a few people sleeping in the house, include parents. So we're trying to keep quiet and refrain from yelling and laughing while trying to catch a bird. Eventually 45 minutes later it finally flies out the door.

oh here's something i forgot. that night in philly Terrance and Brandon from Asteria started a war. They broke into our van and filled it with as much garbage as they could find. So naturally, we retaliate by pooping in the the toilet of their RV. The toilet does not flush. hahahhaa  they get us back again by throwing handfulls of flour on Denny while he was sleeping. soooooo Ben and I decided to steal their GPS system. hahaaa try getting around without knowing where youre going. we'll see what happens next....

 

those are only a few of the stories from this tour so far. all the shows have been so amazing and we've been having the most fun of our lives. thank you for everyone who has come out... and those of you that haven't maybe someday you will. we'd love to you meet you all.

we're getting bummed out that this tour is almost over but we're trying to keep that out of our minds for right now.

So we're heading out for tour in 3 days with bedlight for blue eyes and asteria. along with 2*Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet on select dates. fuckin A.
you stoked? hell yeah we are too. It's going to be great to see you guys again and make new friends along the way. It's been like 3 months since we've toured for more than a week. keep on the lookout for more dates soon. april is currently being worked... more info on that in a few days.

i feel like i'm dead. i suppose i should goto the doctor and get checked out. i think i have the flu. saturday night after we played.. i ran straight to the bathroom and released all contents of taco bell straight out of my guts onto the floor (i didnt calculate the projectile of my vomit quite right and overshot). however, i am known for yacking quite often after we play. taco bell is the shit though, it really is. maybe i'll have some for dinner. it'd be nice to have a chipolte around though too. you know what.. tomorrow is my birthday, i think i'll take a road trip to chipolte for my birthday dinner. just for me!

Well hello there, so we've been home for quite a bit now. As bored as I was I found some things to do to keep me occupied.

oh shit..... i forgot to throw my laundry in the dryer. BRB. ok back. well i guess that took longer than i expected. i finally got dressed at 4pm. anyway it looks like we have some big things in store for 2008. we'll see what happens.

currently, i am BORED out of my mind. i've been home for way too long. i mean we're still doing like small tours here and there but fuck! i want to get out on a long tour again. at least in march we'll be out for 3 weeks with bedlight for blue eyes and asteria. and our boys 2*sweet from chicago will be joining up with us in a few days. those dudes keep shit up for grabs let me tell you.

So the Festivas tour is over. But god damn it was amazing. It was awesome getting to see our boys in Valencia and Four Year Strong everyday. Also making some new buddies in Armor For Sleep. I wish that tour wouldve been longer. Fuck being home right now. I'm so bored. At least being home means new songs.

All I really have to say is that I probably had the worst new years I can remember. Here's a little hint i have to remember... dont show up late. Now it wouldve been ok if i showed up late if i were already drunk. I showed up around 11 and everyone was already hammered drunk. I was dead sober. Really being sober is not the problem. The problem was I didnt know MOST of the people there. So what. Right? I like meeting new people. I mean, hell I meet new people every fucking day on the road. BUT these people were so fucking trashy and obnoxious. Seriously the one girl I swore was a prostitute. I actually asked my brother if he had picked up on the way over to the party. I felt like I was at a frat party. ha. I've been to plenty of those in my past at college. I was not in the mood for it last night. Whatever the night sucked. That is.... UNTIL I GOT HOME!

I managed to find a bottle of vodka in my house. So I sat in my basemet until 5 am getting wasted on vodka tonics alone and playing Resident Evil on wii. It pretty much made a great ending to a shitty night.

So Christmas has come and gone already. Fuck man, I was just eating thanksgiving yesterday. I guess time flies as you get older. Also being on tour.. you don't realize how quickly time passes by.  I hope everyone got what they wanted for Christmas. I got some pretty badass stuff.

Anyways... it's been awhile since I've posted a journal here. A lot has gone on the past few weeks. We had an amazing tour with 2*Sweet and Fireworks. (check these bands out if you haven't heard them yet)  You will be floored with 2*Sweet's full length when it gets released. One of the best CD's I've heard all year. For fans of As Tall As Lions there's a special little guest vocal on one of the tracks. Then we had a few dates with Action Action and Liam and me.  Let me tell you.... we had a little tackle karoeke party at the bar one night. If you sucked, you got fucking tackled! Everyone got tackled! It was quite a bad idea to give all the bands open bar all night. But at the same time... it was the best idea ever. We got to enjoy the worst rendition of "Ring of Fire" ever by our very own Mike Matranga. I don't even know how to describe how hilarious that night was.

Let's move on....

So tomorrow... FUCK YEAH! If anyone happens to be going to the Trocadero in Philly, you better be ready for one of the best shows of the year! How can you go wrong with us(thehighcourt) Valencia, Four Year Strong, and Armor For Sleep. Nothing like playing a sold out show in your hometown. I'm fucking stoked. Get there early. We play first!   (wink wink** we have a little suprise intro for our set tomorrow )

Also...... word is starting to spread so fuck it, here ya go.... We have found our new guitar player. His name is Ben. He is an amazing dude. One of the nicest dudes I've ever met. If you come to a show... say hi to Ben. Give him a fucking hug. Scratch his beard. He's a sweetheart... not to sound gay or anything... everyone thinks I am anyway, oh well.

So, I have to get going. It's time to practice. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and a good new year. Drink some beer. then some whiskey. and top it off with vodka. And smoke a blunt before you pass out!  Seriously though... be safe!!!

Helloooooo!

I'm going to try to make this like a weekly journal with updates and such to keep you guys entertained and informed with going on in our world. Maybe it will be just news. Maybe it will be funny stories. Whow knows what you'll get. I have no fucking clue.

Anyways to give a brief overview of what we have coming up in the next 2 months...

We just got home from touring and our taking our first real break since March pretty much. We're taking some time off. In the next month we'll be writing and recording some new demos. Finding a new guitar player hopefully. And drinking some fucking 40z.  Then at the end of November we'll be doing a short 4 or 5 day run with our buddies Lannen Fall and Sound The Alarm. Check in our myspace for the dates. After that we'll be doing another short 10 day run with our boys 2*sweet from Chicaaaaaago. Along with a band called Fireworks as well. Who i'm sure we'll be boys with them too. Then its onto a very special Christmas. Dec 27th we'll be hitting up the Trocadero in Philly for the Valencia Christmas show. Four Year Strong and special guests Armor For Sleep will be rockin that shit as well. Then again the next day Dec 28th at the School of Rock in South Hackensack, NJ.  (hey... hey... I Surrender Tour???  do you guys agree? that should happen someday right? yeah. fuck yeah. Maybe one day)

Shit I keep rambling on and losing my train of thought. Oh well. Thats about what we have coming up for the rest of the year so far. I know theres a bunch of other shows coming up, but for some reason my brain is moving slowly right now. (can you say... weed?) I want a beer.
